The second book in the Loom Saga.

Cvareh returns home to his sky world of Nova with the genius crafter Arianna as his temperamental guest. Florence unexpectedly finds herself at the forefront of change, as her unique blend of skills — and quick-shooting accuracy — makes her a force to be reckoned with. For the future of her world, she vows vengeance against the Dragons.

Before the rebellion can rise, though, the Guilds must fall.

Books have a lifecycle.
Sometimes, the books are very popular, and this lifecycle lasts a long time. Sometimes, the books don't hit the market right. Wrong book wrong time. A sub-par product. Wrong marketing… there can be a number of reasons for why this is. But whatever the case, the book stops selling.
In the world of print on demand (which is my independently published titles), books are printed when they're ordered. This means there's no cost of warehousing and distribution. The books can stay in print forever.
But for traditional titles, this just isn't the case.
There's a print run of thousands of books. And after a point, if the books don't sell, it's cheaper to turn what's left into pulp so they can be recycled and move on.
That's what's happening now with the Loom Saga.
Foremost, don't feel sad on my behalf. I'm all right. Working with Keymaster Press on this title over the past 5 years has been an eye-opening, educational, and delightful experience. They did everything they could and then some for the book. As did I. They were amazing. This isn't an “angry breakup” in any way. Rather, it's a mutual parting.
It's time to end things.
So what does this mean?
It means that the existing books will be listed as “out of print” soon. Retailers will stop having them in stock (some retailers have already begun this process). It will no longer be possible to find “new” copies of the first editions as they are and, instead, only used copies will be floating around.
I'm getting a few dozen copies to sell in my Etsy at some point as a final huzzah. But stock will be limited and then that's it… so if you've been wanting to get these editions, I recommend you do so ASAP.
What will happen to the eBooks?
That's still up in the air. They might be unpublished and republished later. They might persist. I don't have details yet on that so please keep an eye out for future emails, announcements, and posts on the subject. None of this is going to happen quickly.
What will happen to the Audiobooks?
I believe the audiobooks won't be effected by this change. However, if they are, I will be sure to let you all know as soon as I know.
But here's the good news…
While the process of putting the original editions out of print will take months. The good news is I am able to reclaim the rights to this series.
This isn't an “end” of the Loom Saga so much as a “bye for now."
I have every intention of rereleasing the books as new editions under my own publishing house, Silver Wing Press. This is part of the reason why I have no idea what will be happening with the eBooks. They might need to be retired to avoid confusion with the new editions.
The cover might change.
The interiors might change.
I don't know yet.
Nothing is off the table and please do not expect whatever new editions there may be to “match” the old ones in any way. Even if I tried to, it would be impossible for me to completely match a print run book like Loom with print on demand books. I realize this can be frustrating, but that's why I'm trying to give my readers a heads up to snag them while you're able if you need to finish the series.
I am truly sorry if this news is disappointing or frustrating for you. I completely understand. This certainly isn't the ultimate outcome I would've wanted or dreamed of when I first wrote and published these books. No author wants their books to go out of print. But publishing is an ever-changing adventure. It's a business. And businesses always have to change and adapt.
Plus, I'm looking on the bright side. This means that THE REBELS OF GOLD can finally have a paperback edition. I can try and give the series some new life. There's a lot of possibility here and that's where my focus and heart is.
